FIT FOR PURPOSE
"The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel." (Jeremiah 18:1-6)
Dearly, beloved, the Lord wants to work on you as His child and fashion you to become what He wants you to be, fitting for his own purpose. He is the Porter you are the clay. In the process of waiting on him in His house, He may need to break you down, re-shape you and mould you into a vessel fit for His use.
This process may not be easy or pleasant. You may sometimes feel overwhelmed as the Lord works on you. You may experience pain, disappointments and delays during this time. Whosoever is in the Porters house will need to surrender himself to the Lord completely. Your will, emotion and heart must be yielded to the Lord.
Dearly beloved, the Lord want to make you so that you can be fit for His purpose. While He is working on you, you cannot complain or grumble, let him have His way. Let him turn you into a vessel that will be fit for a noble use in His house.
Remember, you were called with a holy calling, bought with a price and your life is no longer your own. As the Porter is working on you, please endure hardness as a good soldier, He might need to break you down and remould you several times. The breakdown process is not so easy and pleasant, but know of a surety, that He is touched with the feeling of your infirmity and he knows exactly the way you are feeling and able to bear with you. He is the High Priest of our profession, please count on Him to strengthen you and take you through the experience.
If you are going to be used for great things and amount to something in the hands of God you must travel through the road the Lord wants to take you through; as you go on with Him, He will train you and equip you with everything you will require to be successful as a vessel in His hands.
A pot or vessel after being moulded by the Porter will be subjected to the heat of the sun to be dried and later taken through the fire. Alas, this earthen vessel soon becomes hard that it can sustain whatever it is expected to carry be it water, oil or wine. It will become impervious and cannot leak any of the substance it will carry. The same way if you are not taken through this process in the hand of the Porter, you cannot be a carrier of the Holy Ghost and the glory of God. Hence the grace of God for exploits may not be made available.
Are you willing to be subject to the Porter and allow Him to work on you afresh? This is the time....make a decision today and always. As long as you want to amount to greatness in the scheme of God, let Him work on you. He will make something beautiful of your life and you will become a vessel fit for a noble use in Jesus Name.
